Our Story
Maradine’s journey into the disability and healing sector was ignited by a significant person. He had always been drawn to the idea of making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities, but it wasn’t until a particular incident that his passion truly took hold.
Maradine attended a local church, and one day, he met the church pastor’s son, who had a disability. Maradine’s encounter with the pastor’s son left a profound impact on him. He witnessed the daily challenges faced by the young man and his family, and it stirred a deep sense of empathy and compassion within Maradine. He also saw the lack of care and skilled support workers in some isolated areas across his city.
This encounter became the catalyst for Maradine’s unwavering commitment to promoting the disability and healing sector. Despite not having a healthcare background, he remained steadfast in his commitment to make a meaningful difference. Instead, he leveraged his background and experiences in recruitment business AWS, finance and banking, and customer relations to create positive change in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Drawing upon his expertise in business development and organizational management, Maradine founded the “Towards Ability.” This unique venture aims to promote disability awareness, bridge knowledge gaps within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and provide much-needed support to individuals with disabilities.
The Journey Begins
Towards Ability began its journey by conducting extensive research and seeking guidance from healthcare professionals and experts in the disability field. Maradine knew that to fulfil knowledge gaps within the NDIS, he needed a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and the services available to them.
Maradine understood that promoting the disability and healing sector required collaboration and partnerships. He reached out to local disability organizations, and healthcare providers, seeking to build a network that could work together to provide comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities.
Towards Ability programs focus on holistic healing, empowerment, inclusivity and independence, a care Journey to better lives for individuals with disability. Maradine recognized that physical healing was only part of the equation; emotional well-being, community engagement, and inclusivity were equally crucial aspects of the healing journey. Maradine’s genuine empathy and passion for the cause fostered a nurturing environment where everyone felt valued and heard
